6-7 Inches Of Rain Flooded NJ Communities As More Storms Loom
Flood warnings are still in effect in parts of the state as river levels will continue rising, and as there is more rainfall predicted.

NEW JERSEY — Back-to-back storms drenched parts of New Jersey with half a foot of rain, while the wide majority of the state received between three and five inches according to new rainfall totals.

Communities in parts of Salem, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, Passaic, Bergen, Morris, Essex, and Somerset counties are under a flood warning. Some of these expire Monday night, while others linger until Thursday.

The NWS is forecasting "cool and unsettled weather" to begin May across the Garden State, and says showers and possible thunderstorms are possible to start the week.
Eatontown in Monmouth County recorded the most rain, seeing 7.85 inches between Friday and Sunday according to weather spotters with the National Weather Service's Mount Holly office. Other communities in Monmouth County had more than six inches, including Tinton Falls (6.34 inches) and the southern portion of Howell Township (6.23 inches), reported the weather service.

Some towns in Union County also had more than six inches of rain, with 6.46 inches falling in Springfield and 6.10 inches in Westfield according to the NWS's New York City office. Communities in Bergen, Morris, and Ocean counties also saw six-plus inches of rain over the weekend.
Rainfall total numbers include measurements from the NWS, the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS), and the Citizen Weather Observer Program.
