American Dream Shooting Victim Released From Hospital: State Police
The man who was shot inside the American Dream megamall during an attempted robbery earlier this month is out of the hospital, police said.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The man who was shot inside the American Dream megamall during an attempted robbery earlier this month is out of the hospital, New Jersey State Police told patch.
A State Police spokesperson told Patch the victim, a 37-year-old New York City man, has been released but did not say when he left the hospital.
State Police said 20-year-old Anwar Stuart of Brooklyn has been charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery, conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection to the shooting.

The shooting happened on April 7, when troopers from the Meadowlands station responded to a report of a shooting inside the mall, police said. Upon arrival, troopers discovered the victim with "serious injuries" shot multiple times during an attempted robbery. He was taken to an area hospital.
NJ.com reports that the shooting occurred on the second floor of the mall and that the victim had approached Stuart and another man, offering a chance to play a betting game for cash.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's office is handling the case, State Police said.
