Power Outages Could Last Until Friday As NJ Struggles To Recover From Severe Weather

Straight-line winds and severe gusts that reached more than 70 mph wreaked havoc in a number of New Jersey towns.

New Jersey was bracing for another round of storms on Saturday even as it was still cleaning up from severe thunderstorms and winds that blasted the Garden State on Friday.

The storms uprooted trees, took down wires, and wreaked havoc in a number of towns with wind gusts recorded at 60 to 71 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

And according to JCP&L, full restoration may elude some customers until Friday.
