Walgreens will be closing two more locations in New Jersey as part of its three-year plan to achieve a successful financial turnaround.
The locations permanently closing, according to Walgreens' website, include:
"Customers may continue to shop at these locations until the closing dates. After the store closure dates, prescriptions will be automatically transferred to nearby Walgreens locations to ensure uninterrupted service," the Walgreens Communications Team told Patch.
Prescriptions from the Bogota location will transfer to Walgreens at 520 Cedar Ln. in Teaneck, and prescriptions from the Dumont location will transfer to Walgreens at 241 N. Washington Ave. in Bergenfield.
Walgreens also stated that patients who have relied on these locations will also be eligible for free prescription delivery for 90 days following the closures.
"We recognize these changes may be disruptive for residents who rely on these pharmacies, particularly for essential medications. Decisions to close stores are never made lightly, and we are committed to making the transition as seamless as possible," according to Walgreens.

"Our team members are being supported through these transitions, including opportunities to continue employment at other Walgreens locations. Walgreens remains committed to serving Bergen County communities through nearby stores, prescription transfers and delivery options," according to Walgreens.
In 2024, the struggling drug store chain revealed more than 1,200 Walgreens stores will close over the next three years.
This comes after the Deerfield, Illinois-based company reported a fourth-quarter loss of $3 billion in 2024. Still, Walgreens officials remained optimistic about the chain's long-term survival prospects.
"This turnaround will take time, but we are confident it will yield significant financial and consumer benefits over the long term," Walgreens CEO Tim Wentworth said in a statement in 2024.
The chain has approximately 8,500 stores in the United States, including about 180 locations in New Jersey.
