Salsa, Guacamole, More Recalled At Popular NJ Grocery Store

The prepared foods contain jalapenos that are potentially contaminated with Salmonella, according to the FDA.

Prepared dips including salsa, guacamole and more are being recalled at Whole Foods locations across the country due to potential Salmonella contamination, the FDA announced.

The products contain jalapeños sourced from Coast Citrus Distributors that potentially are contaminated with Salmonella, according to the FDA. This is part of an ongoing outbreak of Salmonella infections across multiple states.

"Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems," the FDA said. "Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis."

The recalled products were sold online and, in the Produce and Prepared Foods departments in the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky and Ohio, with Best Before/By dates of 8/7/2026 – 8/16/2026.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with these products, the FDA said.

Customers who purchased any of the products listed should not consume them. You should discard the product or bring a valid receipt to any Whole Foods Market store for a full refund.
