The affected packages carry a best-by date of Nov. 27, 2027.

Listeria can cause severe or sometimes fatal infections in young children, older adults, frail people and those with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms can include high fever, severe headache, nausea and abdominal pain.

No illnesses had been reported in connection with the recalled salmon as of the announcement.

Consumers who purchased the product should check the packaging against the recalled product details and avoid eating it if it matches.
