Christmas Shipping Deadlines In NJ For Post Office, FedEx, UPS

NEW JERSEY — As New Jersey residents make a dent in or even finish their holiday shopping, the last couple of years of pandemic supply-chain issues are a good reminder to get gifts on their way early, ahead of FedEx, UPS and U.S. Postal Service holiday shipping deadlines.

The Postal Service has fewer workers than in holidays past, but said as a result of better training and efficiency measures, its employees are well-positioned to deliver 60 million packages this holiday season.

Still, if you don’t have to push the deadline, don’t. And if you plan to ship for winter holidays other than Christmas, keep their dates in mind. Hanukkah will run from Dec. 18-26, while Kwanzaa takes place Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.

Here are the dates you need to know:

FedEx Christmas deadlines: The following dates are the recommended last days for shipping holiday gifts within the U.S. for delivery by Sunday, Dec. 25:

• FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx Ground: Wednesday, Dec. 14
• FedEx Express Saver, FedEx 3Day Freight: Tuesday, Dec. 20
• FedEx 2Day: Wednesday, Dec. 21
• FedEx 1Day Freight, FedEx Extra Hours: Thursday, Dec. 22
• FedEx SameDay: Friday, Dec. 23

UPS Christmas shipping deadlines: The following dates are the recommended last days for shipping holiday gifts within the United States for delivery by Saturday, Dec. 24:

• Ground: Check the UPS website for details
• 3-Day Select: Tuesday, Dec. 20
• 2nd Day Air: Wednesday, Dec. 21
• Next Day Air: Thursday, Dec. 22

USPS Christmas Deadlines 2022: The following are the recommended “send-by-dates for expected delivery” before Sunday, Dec. 25, in the lower 48 states:

• Retail Ground: Saturday, Dec. 17
• First-Class Mail: Saturday, Dec. 17
• Priority Mail: Monday, Dec. 19
• Priority Mail Express: Friday, Dec. 23

The following dates are the recommended last days for shipping holiday gifts from Alaska for delivery by Sunday, Dec. 25:

• Ground: Friday, Dec. 2
• First-Class Mail: Saturday, Dec. 17
• Priority Mail: Saturday, Dec. 17
• Priority Mail Express: Wednesday, Dec. 21

The following dates are the recommended last days for shipping holiday gifts from Hawaii for delivery by Sunday, Dec. 25:

• First-Class Mail: Saturday, Dec. 17
• Priority Mail: Saturday, Dec. 17
• Priority Mail Express: Wednesday, Dec. 21

Shipping deadlines for international mail range from Nov. 29-Dec. 6. The ground shipping deadline for military service members has already passed. First-class and priority mail deadlines are Dec. 9; the deadline for Priority Mail Express Military service is Dec. 16.
