Construction, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Tuesday, July 12, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:02 a.m., there's a crash on the NJ Turnpike inner roadway northbound south of Interchange 14 - I-78 - US 1&9 in Newark. All lanes open - vehicle moved to the right shoulder.

As of 6:05 a.m., there's an unanticipated construction delay on US 46 from west of McBridge Avenue/Little Falls Avenue in Little Falls to NJ 62/Union Boulevard in Totowa. 2 right lanes closed.

As of 6:04 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge lower and upper levels eastbound New Jersey side in Fort Lee. All lanes open. The travel time is 20 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 6:01 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. All lanes open. The travel time to the New York side is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

Central Jersey

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US 1 southbound Old Post Road North in Edison. Right shoulder closed until 3 p.m.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on NJ 35 southbound at NJ 36 in Keyport. 1 left lane closed.

As of 4:02 a.m., there’s construction on NJ 175 northbound from West Upper Ferry Road to NJ 29 in Ewing Township. All lanes closed and detoured until further notice.

South Jersey

As of 7:26 a.m., there's a crash on the NJ Turnpike southbound south of Interchange 2 - US 322 in Pilesgrove Township. All lanes open.

As of 7:15 a.m., there's a crash and overturned vehicle on I-295 southbound at Exit 34 - NJ 70 in Cherry Hill. Right shoulder closed.

As of 6:11 a.m., there are delays on NJ 55 northbound south of NJ 42 in Deptford. All lanes open.

As of 4:11 a.m., there’s construction on NJ 70 in both directions between Cropwell Road in Evesham Township and CR 673/Springdale Road in Cherry Hill. All lanes shift until 11:59 p.m. on February 4, 2023.

Transit Updates

The 7:21 a.m. Newark Light Rail departure from Newark Penn Station will not operate due to operator availability.
The 6:57 a.m. Newark Light Rail departure from Grove Street Station will not operate due to operator availability.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect sunny skies most of the day with a high near 87. Scattered severe thunderstorms and showers are possible in the evening.
