Crash Downs Wires, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Wednesday, June 22, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:47 a.m., there's debris on the Garden State Parkway southbound north of Exit 136 - Stiles Street in Cranford. 1 center lane blocked.

As of 7:44 a.m., there's a crash with injuries on NJ 21 southbound Miller Street in Newark. 2 left lanes closed.

As of 6:21 a.m., there are delays at the Lincoln Tunnel south and center tunnels eastbound New Jersey side in Weehawken. All lanes open. The travel time is 20 minutes from NJ Turnpike Exit 16E to the New York side.

Central Jersey

As of 7:32 a.m., there's a crash on US 1 northbound 1-295 in Lawrence. 1 left lane and shoulder closed, 5-10 minute delay.

As of 6:52 a.m., there's a vehicle fire on US 1 southbound Ryders Lane in North Brunswick. 2 right lanes closed.

As of 4:21 a.m., there's a crash, downed pole and downed wires on US 9 northbound CR 673/Ernston Road in Sayreville. 1 right lane and shoulder closed.

As of 4 a.m., there's a sinkhole on I-287 local lanes northbound ramp to eastbound Exit 21 - I-78 in Bedminster. All lanes closed and detoured (Exit 21A is closed).

South Jersey

As of 8:14 a.m., there's a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound north of Interchange 2 - US 322 in West Deptford. 1 left lane blocked.

As of 7:19 a.m., there's an overturned truck on NJ 55 southbound north of Exit 29 - CR 552/Sherman Avenue in Vineland. All lanes closed and detoured.

As of 6:48 a.m., there are delays on NJ 55 northbound south of NJ 42 in Deptford.

As of 6 a.m., there's construction on US 206 in both directions in the vicinity of US 30 in Hammonton. Right shoulder closed until 6 p.m.

Transit Updates

North Jersey Coast train #3208, the 6:23 a.m. Penn Station New York arrival is up to 15 minutes late due to congestion resulting from disabled equipment near Newark Penn Station.

Northeast Corridor train #3702, the 6:38 a.m. arrival into Penn Station New York, is up to 30-minutes late due to earlier equipment availability.

Northeast Corridor #3700, the 6:07 a.m. arrival into Penn Station New York, is up to 35 minutes late due to congestion resulting from earlier police activity near Metropark.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect scattered showers, mainly after 1 p.m. Otherwise, there'll be mostly cloudy skies with a high near 74 and wind gusts as high as 20 mph.
