Emergency Road Work, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Monday, July 25, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 8:04 a.m., there's a crash on NJ 82 westbound west of CR 637/Liberty Avenue in Union. 1 right lane closed.

As of 7:23 a.m., there are delays and an earlier incident on I-78 eastbound approaching east of Exit 44 - CR 527/Glenside Avenue in Berkeley Heights. All lanes open.

As of 6:57 a.m., there's a crash with injuries on US 1&9 express lanes northbound approaching Delancey Street in Newark. All lanes closed.

As of 6:49 a.m., there's a disabled vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike - Western Spur northbound north of interchange 15E - US 1&9 in Newark. All lanes open.

As of 6:16 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge lower and upper levels eastbound on the New Jersey side in Fort Lee. All lanes open. The travel time is 20 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 6:01 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. All lanes open. The travel time to the New York side is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

Central Jersey

As of 5:12 a.m., there are downed wires and a utility pole down on NJ 35 in both directions north of CR 524/Allaire Road in Wall Township. All lanes closed; 2-way traffic on northbound roadway.

As of 5:12 a.m., there's emergency construction on NJ 34 in both directions south of Earle Naval Base in Colts Neck. All lanes shift.

As of 4:03 a.m., there's emergency construction on US 1 in both directions ramp to westbound Washington Road in West Windsor. Washington Road is closed and detoured.

South Jersey

As of 6:21 a.m., there's a drawbridge open on NJ 73 westbound between Tacony-Palmyra bridge in Palmyra. All lanes open.

As of 4:02 a.m., there's construction on NJ 70 westbound from Cropwell Road in Evesham to CR 673/Springdale Road in Cherry Hill. All lanes shift until 11:59 p.m.

Transit Updates

New NJ Transit Rail weekday and weekend schedule changes in effect.

All NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect showers and thunderstorms mainly after 4 p.m., the National Weather Service said. Otherwise, Monday will see partly sunny skies with a high near 93. Heat index values could reach as high as 102.
