Free Krispy Kreme Doughnuts For July 4: How To Get One In NJ

NEW JERSEY — Krispy Kreme is getting into the spirit of the nation's birthday for a limited time as the national doughnut chain announced Monday the launch of a new line of red, white and blue doughnuts to celebrate the 4th of July.

The "I Heart America" collection will have four new America-themed doughnuts for a limited time. That's not the only good news for Krispy Kreme customers, as the Charlotte-based chain also announced it is giving away free doughnuts to patriotic patrons. Any customer who wears red, white and blue to participating stores will receive a free doughnut of their choice every day through July 4, according to a company news release.

From Friday through Monday, customers will receive a free dozen original glazed doughnuts when they purchase a dozen doughnuts at regular price.

New Jersey doughnut fans have several Krispy Kreme locations from which to choose, with shops in Collingswood, East Rutherford, Springfield, Jersey City and Paramus.

Here is a look at the four doughnuts debuting in the "I Heart America" collection:

• Soaring Firework Heart: A heart-shaped doughnut filled with Strawberries & Kreme, dipped in red icing and decorated with an icing drizzle and star sugar piece.
• Patriotic Cookies & Kreme Heart: A heart-shaped doughnut filled with Cookies & Kreme, dipped in white icing and topped with cookie and icing drizzles.
• Stars & Stripes Heart: A heart-shaped doughnut filled with Kreme, dipped in white icing and decorated like a flag with a red icing drizzle and a star sprinkle blend.
• Star Spangled Sprinkle: A glazed doughnut dipped in blue icing and topped with red and white star sprinkles.

Krispy Kreme also is running a pair of summer-long promotions. Customers can sample hot, fresh original glazed doughnuts daily through Labor Day when the Hot Light is on at participating stores. As part of its "Beat The Pump" promotion, Krispy Kreme will set the price of a dozen original glazed doughnuts each Wednesday based on the national average price of a gallon of regular gasoline, according to AAA.
