Commuter Delays; Parkway, Turnpike Crashes: Patch PM Traffic Digest

NEW JERSEY — Good afternoon, New Jersey! Here's what you need to know before you leave for the Thursday evening commute.

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 4:40 p.m., there's a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway southbound North of Interchange 13A - Newark Liberty International Airport/US 1&9 in Elizabeth. Left shoulder blocked.

As of 4:23 p.m., there are delays on US 46 eastbound between NJ 23/Pompton Av in Wayne Twp and NJ 3 in Clifton. Current travel time is 10-15 minutes.

As of 4:22 p.m., there are Delays on the New Jersey Turnpike - Western Spur southbound from South of Interchange 16W - NJ 3 in East Rutherford to South of Interchange 15W - I-280 in Kearny. All lanes open 4-mile delay, due to volume.

Central Jersey

As of 4:45 p.m., there's a water main break on NJ 33 westbound East of CR 539/Main St in Hightstown. All lanes closed and detoured, use caution.

As of 4:05 p.m., there's a crash with injuries on NJ 18 southbound South of NJ 172/George St in New Brunswick. 1 right lane closed, 10-minute delay.

As of 3:54 p.m., there's a crash on US 1 northbound South of Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge Twp. 1 right lane closed.

As of 3:30 p.m., there's a water main break on NJ 33 westbound East of CR 539/Main St in Hightstown. All lanes closed and detoured, use caution.

South Jersey

As of 4:30 p.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway northbound South of Exit 11 - Crest Haven Rd in Middle Twp. All lanes open.

As of 4:03 p.m., there are delays on US 322 eastbound from I-295 in Logan Twp to CR 551/Kings Highway in Woolwich Twp. Current travel time is 10-15 minutes.

Transit Updates

Northeast Corridor Line train #3959, the 6:12 p.m. departure from PSNY, is canceled due to equipment availability. Take train #3873, the 6:14 PM departure from PSNY, making an additional stop at Secaucus.

All other NJ Transit rail lines are running on or close to schedule.
