Grocery Chain Set To Close 6 NJ Locations: See Where
Over the next year, the chain plans to close 36 stores across the U.S. as part of an "optimization plan."
Grocery Outlet, a California-based grocery chain with multiple New Jersey locations, is planning to close dozens of its supermarkets, including six in the Garden State.
On Wednesday, the grocer announced that it plans to close 36 stores over the next year as part of an “optimization plan.”
During the company’s quarterly earnings call, CEO Jason Potter said the grocer identified 36 stores that they concluded “did not have a viable path to sustained profitability.”

Of the 36 stores set to be closed, 24 are located in the eastern part of the U.S., where the retailer recently expanded.
According to a brochure from Gordon Brothers, six of these stores are located in New Jersey, alongside other locations in California, Idaho, Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The New Jersey stores listed in the brochure are as follows:
- Delran (4004 Route 130)
- Gibbstown (401 Harmony Road)
- Hazlet (3057 NJ-35)
- Mays Landing (190 Hamilton Commons Drive)
- Rio Grande (3174 Route 9, Suite 5)
- Sicklerville (677 Berlin Cross Keys Road)
Outside of the NJ Grocery Outlet locations set to close, the company also has locations in Hamilton, Medford and Deptford.
