Weekend Snowfall Projections For NJ Updated
Snow will begin to fall Friday night and linger into Saturday morning, forecasters say.
NEW JERSEY — Snow is expected to fall across New Jersey Friday night into Saturday morning, according to the latest forecast.
Snow will move in heading southwest to northeast after midnight Friday and should taper off shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
Most of the state will see just a light dusting of snow; less than an inch. There could be up to 2 inches in the southernmost portion of the state in Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic counties.

The snow will be intermittent and spotty in nature, AccuWeather forecasters predict. They have only the southernmost tip of New Jersey seeing any snow, predicting 1 to 3 inches.
"While a general 1 to perhaps 3 inches of snow is forecast, there can be pockets where a coating or a dusting of snow could be all that falls from the storm, especially along the upper mid-Atlantic coast," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.

However, for the most part, it "continues to look like a nuisance snow event," the National Weather Service said.
Winds will pick up in the wake of the storm, with gusts upwards of 25 mph and low temperatures in the low-to-mid-20s. Wind chills will be in the teens, according to the National Weather Service.
It doesn't look like next week will see any precipitation. But it will remain very cold, forecasters say. It could be some of the coldest air of the winter, according to AccuWeather.
