Interstate Crash, Commuting Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Wednesday, July 20, 2022:

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:43 a.m., there's emergency construction on I-80 eastbound east of Exit 43 - I-287 in Parsippany-Troy Hills. 3 right lanes closed.

As of 7:29 a.m., there's a crash with injuries on I-78 express lanes eastbound east of Exit 49 - NJ 124/Springfield Avenue in Union. 2 right lanes closed.

As of 7:01 a.m., there's a crash on I-80 eastbound Exit 35 - Mount Hope Avenue in Rockaway Township. 1 right lane closed; 10-15 minute delay.

As of 6:14 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. All lanes open. The travel time to the New York side is 15 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

As of 5:01 a.m., there's construction on the George Washington Bridge upper-level westbound ramp to Palisades Interstate Parkway in Fort Lee. 1 left lane closed until 2:30 p.m.

Central Jersey

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US 9 northbound from north of Ferry Road to north of Cindy Street in Old Bridge. 1 right lane and shoulder closed until 3 p.m.

As of 5:56 a.m., there's roadwork on the Garden State Parkway outer roadway southbound at south of Exit 116 - PNC Arts Center in Holmdel. 1 ramp closed.

As of 4:07 a.m., there's construction on NJ 18 northbound south of Exit 25 - NJ 79 in Marlboro. Both shoulders closed until 11:59 p.m. on August 30.

South Jersey

As of 4:49 a.m., there's an unanticipated construction delay on US 30 in both directions between west of CR 561/Moss Mill Road in Hammonton and east of CR 623/Elwood Road in Mullica. 1 left lane closed until 9 a.m.

Transit Updates

All NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect sunny skies most of the day with a high near 94, according to the National Weather Service.
