NEW JERSEY — Most of New Jersey could see a light dusting of snow Thursday afternoon and evening, and there will be another chance of snow over the weekend, according to the latest forecast.

Thursday's snow will be light, with less than 1 inch in store statewide, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters expect snow to start falling this afternoon, and then taper off between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

"While there is some concern with the snow falling around the evening commute, the snow should be light and dry enough to not cause any significant travel issues, especially in light of the residual salt on many roads," National Weather Service forecasters said.

Saturday will see some rain as things will be relatively warm (in the 40s) over the next few days, and then there's another chance of snow Sunday.

"Even if it develops, the system will be rather weak and progressive, so snowfall totals and resulting impacts appear minor," National Weather Service forecasters said.

AccuWeather forecasters said there could be enough snow and ice to make for slippery travel Sunday.

After that, temperatures will be downright frigid next week - the coldest we've had in years, according to the National Weather Service. AccuWeather forecasters are watching for another potential storm that could form and bring snow to New Jersey next week.
