Snow, Much-Needed Rain In NJ Forecast
A Midwestern storm and coastal storm could mix this week, bringing some badly needed rain -and possibly snowflakes - to New Jersey.
NEW JERSEY — The Garden State might finally see some relief from dry conditions and wildfires this week with the potential for measurable rainfall - and possibly even a few snowflakes.
Expect dryness to continue until Wednesday night, when New Jersey is in for some rain, forecasters say. This widespread rain will total around half an inch to one inch, according to the National Weather Service.
This is when a "major storm" will form over the Great Lakes and head to the east, forecasters with AccuWeather say. A cold front with the storm could form into a secondary storm, AccuWeather forecasters say, and it could combine with tropical moisture off the coast to bring some drenching rain to the area.

Rain showers are possible both Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service said. There's even the potential for some snow showers, though these will likely be confined to the mountainous northwestern region of New Jersey.
"Not expecting any showers to be as heavy as the rain Wednesday night, but expected dreary and blustery conditions to close out the week," National Weather Service forecasters said.
