New Jersey Gas Prices Hit $4, Highest Since 2008: Reports
New Jersey gas prices this week are up nearly $1 from last year — and motorists aren't likely to see relief soon.
NEW JERSEY — Sticker shock at New Jersey gas stations just got worse as gas prices in some parts of the state hit $4 per gallon this week, the highest recorded since 2008.
Luckily, the statewide average is still hovering below $4, according to GasBuddy.com. As of Friday, New Jersey gas prices averaged $3.82 for a gallon of regular gas, slightly above the U.S. average gas price of $3.79.
On Thursday, however, the highest gas prices ranged from $4.17 to a staggering $4.99 per gallon for regular, NJ.com reported citing GasBuddy figures. The lowest prices ranged from $3.21 to $3.39 per gallon.

- Regular gas: $3.88 per gallon
- Plus gas: $4.07
- Premium gas: $4.34
- Ultra gas: $4.36

Will the rest of the state soon see $4 per gallon for regular gas? Taking into account the war in Ukraine and the switch from winter to summer gas, it may happen sooner than you think.
