NEW JERSEY — Nothing beats grandma's cooking, but you may need to watch out for Grandma's Cuisine. A company that sells cheese-filled pierogies in stores throughout New Jersey recalled some of its products because they "may" contain an undeclared milk allergen.

Dymski Pierogies, dba Grandma’s Cuisine, recalled multiple varieties of the frozen, cheese-filled products, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The company distributed Grandma's Cuisine pierogies to Restaurant Depot chain stores and local retail stores throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania between April 2021 and last month.

Federal law requires all food labels to list ingredients that may cause allergic reactions, including milk. Milk allergies differ from lactose intolerance and can cause life-threatening illnesses, according to Food Allergy Research & Education.
