New Jersey came in 20th on the list of all 50 states, the study found. The Garden state has 28 ghost towns, and has 2,805 UFO sightings and 1,116 UFO sightings listed in online reports from NUFORC and Ghosts of America.

“Ghost towns” are abandoned, neglected, or barren communities which are scattered around the state and country. Some of these in the state still have structures standing or have been converted into outdoor museums, or else absorbed into the parks system. Others may be difficult to find, if sites have been converted to pasture or natural land.
