Winter weather advisories have been put in place in 10 other counties. Atlantic and Cape May County have been spared as of Thursday.

The precipitation Friday will begin as snow but as the evening progresses, a transition from snow to sleet is expected south of Interstate 195, making for dangerous travel conditions, the weather service said. North of Interstate 195 it is expected to remain all snow.

The largest snow accumulations are anticipated north of Interstate 195, with the possibility of localized amounts of up to 12 inches, the weather service said.

South of Interstate 195, the sleet will reduce the overall snow totals. The forecast is predicting 4 to 6 inches of snow in northern Burlington and Ocean counties, with the predictions dropping to 1 to 2 inches farther south.

Cape May County is expected to see less than an inch of snow.

The storm is expected to move out of the area Saturday morning.
