NJ Recall: 90K Bottles Of Children's Ibuprofen Pulled From Shelves
The Bridgewater-based pharmaceutical company initiated a nationwide recall of 89,592 bottles tied to two lots of children's ibuprofen.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Bridgewater pharmaceutical company is recalling around 90,000 bottles of children's ibuprofen after complaints of foreign substances found in the product.
Strides Pharma Inc., at 200 Crossing Blvd. in Bridgewater, initiated a voluntary nationwide recall earlier this month of 89,592 bottles of Children's Ibuprofen Oral Suspension, 100 mg per 5 mL, sold in 4-fluid-ounce (120 mL) bottles.
According to the FDA report, Strides Pharma received complaints for a gel-like mass and black particles in the product.
The medicine was manufactured for Taro Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., of Hawthorne, New York, and the listing says it was made in India.
The recall applies to lot numbers 7261973A and 7261974A, both with an expiration date of Jan. 31, 2027, according to the report.
Anyone checking a bottle can compare the lot number and expiration date listed on the packaging with the information in the recall notice.
