A lake effect occurring in Pennsylvania brings the potential for snow to fall across New Jersey along with historically cold temps.

NEW JERSEY — The winter season is getting a head start with snow showers and frigid temperatures expected to hit New Jersey on Tuesday.

Along with snow, New Jersey residents should make sure to grab their coats as temperatures will run 10 to 20 degrees below the historical average for late November, making it feel more like late December or January in terms of nighttime low, according to accuweather.com.

"It will be a blustery day with highs mostly in the 30s but winds gusting 25 to 35 mph making it feel a good 10-15 degrees colder," said NWS.
