Thelma and Louise? Help Name SEA LIFE NJ's Turtle Duo

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — SEA LIFE New Jersey has a fun dilemma and they need your help. What should they name their pair of female yellow spotted river turtles?
The aquarium is offering fans a chance to vote in an Instagram Stories poll, suggesting three possible pairs of names: Thelma and Louise, Mishell and Shelby, and Pat and Phillis.
As of Wednesday morning, Thelma and Louise — a nod to Geena Davis's and Susan Sarandon's characters in the 1991 film — is leading the poll with 42 percent of the votes. In second is Mishell and Shelby with 34 percent, then Pat and Phillis with 25 percent.

Yellow-spotted river turtles are native to the Amazon River basin and can be found in the Amazon and Orinoco river systems in Venezuela, eastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, northeastern Peru, the Guianas, Brazil and northern Bolivia, according to Smithsonian's National Zoo.

They "enjoy basking along the riverbanks and in the calm waters of big rivers and streams" and females typically far outgrow males, the zoo said.
Adult males typically weigh only around one or two pounds while females can reach as many as 6.5 pounds.
