Two highly-respected and popular South Jersey nursing homes recognized their veterans this year on Veterans Day 2021 but in different ways, however the common denominator was the word "honor". At Hammonton Center, Recreation Director Helen Sikora and her department treated the veterans to beautiful medals commemorating their service to this country.

Hammonton Center Administrator Eli Goldman visits with each veteran

Deptford Center honored their veterans individually where they were given certificates and a special lunch. Staff went around to each room during the morning of November 11 and read a inspirational quotes about bravery and freedom and then were presented with the Certificate of Merit.

Deptford Center's brave veterans receive their certificates on an emotional day.

"Each veteran we visited became emotional when given their certificate," said Paige Doumenis, Recreation Director at Deptford Center. "We had each veteran brought down to sit and reflect at our Missing Man table. That was emotional for everyone."
