ASBURY PARK, NJ - Two burglaries this week on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park have prompted an investigation, authorities said.
The incidents occurred at Rebel Supply Company (550 Cookman Avenue) on March 29, and again at Confections of a Rock Star (550 Cookman Avenue) on March 31.
Both events occurred overnight, Asbury Park Police Department Public Information Officer Michael Casey told Patch. The assailant entered the businesses by breaking the glass to a rear entry door, removing cash from both storefronts, Casey added.
Rebel Supply Company took to Facebook on Wednesday to share the news:

“We had an unfortunate incident yesterday,” the store wrote. “We are very grateful no one was hurt (except maybe the butthead bashed in our window) money & things are replaceable. Our love for this place is forever. We just wanted to remind everyone to be careful. Be aware & stay safe. We love this town with all our being. This is our house.”
Casey says that a subject caught on video from Confections of a Rock Star is described as a heavy-set male wearing a light colored hoodie, dark colored face mask and glasses. The subject also appeared to be wearing light colored sweatpants and sneakers bearing reflectors, Casey said.
The Asbury Park Police Department Detective Bureau is currently investigating.
