3. Greater Asbury Park Historic Revival Project Seeks Community Input on Eastside Neighborhood Future (tapinto.net) — Asbury Park residents are being asked to help shape the future of the city’s Eastside neighborhood through a new public survey from the Greater Asbury Park Historic Revival Project. Funded by a state planning grant, the effort aims to refine a 10-year neighborhood plan focused on revitalization, preservation, education, wellness, and economic opportunity. 4. In Asbury Park City Woman Honored for Service (thecoaster.net) — An Asbury Park Police Department administrative secretary, Lorinette Britt-Murray, has been nationally honored as Volunteer of the Year for her decades of work with local youth. She founded the Sister Circle mentoring program in 2001 and has kept it going through lean years, helping girls across Monmouth and Ocean counties build confidence and support networks. Her dedication highlights the impact of PAL programs rooted in Asbury Park.
5. Great white shark Quint is swimming off New Jersey near Asbury Park (app.com) — A 9-foot, 600-pound great white shark named Quint has been tracked swimming just a few miles off Asbury Park, part of his long migration along the East Coast. Researchers with OCEARCH are using his satellite tag to better understand shark movements and habitats, with Quint marking the group’s 100th tagged great white.
