First Friday Paints Press Plaza With Art, Music and Asbury Park Color (tapinto.net) — Downtown Asbury Park's Press Plaza will turn into a free open-air art and music festival this Friday, Sept. 4, from 5–9 p.m. First Friday Art & Sound, backed by the city's Community & Cultural Affairs Department, fills Emory Street with local artists, live bands, and creative demos, encouraging residents to wander, listen, browse, and enjoy a late-summer night out.
   

4. Jellyfish Sting Swimmers Across The Jersey Shore (patch.com) — Swimmers at Asbury Park and other Jersey Shore beaches reported painful jellyfish stings over the weekend, with experts identifying the rare mauve stinger species. Local beachgoers are urged to know proper first-aid: use vinegar and salt water, avoid fresh water, apply heat, and skip myths like urinating on the sting to stay safer in the surf.
