Jellyfish Sting Swimmers Across The Jersey Shore (patch.com) — Swimmers at Asbury Park and other Jersey Shore beaches reported painful jellyfish stings over the weekend, with experts identifying the rare mauve stinger species. Local beachgoers are urged to know proper first-aid: use vinegar and salt water, avoid fresh water, apply heat, and skip myths like urinating on the sting to stay safer in the surf.
