ASBURY PARK, NJ — One of the top 10 best pasta dishes in the nation can be found in Monmouth County, according to a new list from Yelp.
That would be Pasta Volo in Asbury Park.
Pasta Volo was ranked No. 8 on Yelp's list of the Top 100 Pasta Places of 2026, according to Yelp reviewers.
Three Jersey spots made the list (surprise, surprise, we have good Italian food in Joisey), and the No. 1 spaghetti restaurant in America is in nowhere else but New Jersey. They are:
The Pasta Shop at 13 First Avenue in Denville - No. 1 best in the nation - Says Yelp: "Pastas made fresh daily draw long lines to this suburban New Jersey favorite. Choose from five to six varieties — rigatoni, spaghetti, linguine, cheese ravioli, and seasonal specials — plus homemade sauces. (The Vodka Sauce is the best-seller.) Executive chef/co-owner (and Denville native) Tommy Pollio turned this former laundromat into a local hotspot with business partner Sergio Sciancalepore. In addition to traditional varieties, "we're known for our gluten-free pasta made on a designated gluten-free machine," says Pollio. Yelpers praise the first-come, first-served restaurant and market with its open kitchen, wood-burning oven, and pasta-making demos in the front window, but recommend arriving early to snag one of the few tables."
Pasta Vola at 419 Bond Street in Asbury Park - No. 8 best in the nation. Says Yelp: "Affordable, build-your-own pasta bowls are a fun, fresh concept at this popular Asbury Park carryout. Pick your noodles, sauce, meats, cheeses, and veggies from the case — servers then pack them in a handy to-go container. (Seating is minimal.) All sauces and pastas (fusilli, gemelli, mafalde, and shells) are made on-site under the watchful eye of owner Solai Rivers, an Asbury Park native and longtime Pasta Volo fan. She bought the business from the original owners in 2023 and now runs it with her daughter, Sendira. Pasta and sauce combos start at $9.15 ($2 extra for gluten-free pasta), and proteins, cheese, and veggies range from $2 to $5 apiece."
Yelpers say: "Excellent 'home-cooked meal' taste. Food is always fresh and made daily on the premises. They have limited gluten-free/dairy-free/vegan options. The owner is very sweet and extremely knowledgeable, and takes the time to get everything right. It's well worth the trip!" —Glen V.
