Asbury Park Cancels Special Meeting

ASBURY PARK – The mayor and council of Asbury Park have canceled a special council meeting scheduled for Thursday.

The meeting was supposed to be held at 5 p.m. at the City Hall council chambers at 1 Municipal Plaza in Asbury Park.

The cancellation comes a day after preliminary design concepts on a parking garage were scheduled to be presented at a public meeting on Wednesday.

"Due to the city's tremendous growth, parking availability is obviously something we've been struggling with in Asbury Park," said Councilperson Eileen Chapman. "It's an especially important topic for our downtown businesses community as it affects their livelihood and we are pleased to be able to offer a parking solution close to downtown."
