Judge Orders Deportation For NJ Woman Who Slapped Teen Trump Supporter

ASBURY PARK, NJ — On Tuesday, a federal immigration judge in Texas ordered an Asbury Park woman deported back to her native Canada, according a media spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, assaulted a teenage girl wearing pro-Trump and ICE sweatpants on the Point Pleasant boardwalk over Fourth of July weekend.

Tracey pleaded guilty to assaulting the teen girl, the Winnipeg Sun reported this week. It was after she pleaded guilty that a judge ordered her to be deported.

"Kaitlyn Tracey is a criminal illegal alien from Canada," said the Homeland Security spokesperson. "She received full due process and was ordered removed on August 4 by an immigration judge to her home country of Canada."

"ICE will return her home as soon as possible."

Tracey was living with her husband in Asbury Park at the time of the alleged incident. She was arrested by Point Pleasant Beach Police on July 13, and has been held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at Delaney Hall in Newark up until now.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security previously said it would seek to have her deported, saying she is an illegal alien living in the United States. DHS says she overstayed her tourist visa when she first came to the United States two years ago; she entered the U.S. on an April 2024 visa and stayed past its Sept. 6, 2024 expiration date, says the federal government.

The incident happened after sunset on July 3: Point Pleasant Beach Police said a teenage girl and three of her friends were walking down the boardwalk when Tracey began berating them about the clothing they were wearing, specifically that two of the girls "were wearing patriotic colored sweatpants with the words 'Trump' and 'ICE' displayed on them," according to a police report of the incident provided by Point Pleasant Beach Police.

Tracey approached the girl and her friends and continued to yell at "and harass them," according to the police report. It escalated to Tracey slapping one of the teenage girls, Point Pleasant Beach Police said. She is accused of slapping the teen girl twice, once across the girl's face and across the girl's body, said police.

Police followed Tracey and tried to stop her but she refused to stop.

Authorities were able to confirm her identity three days later, on July 6, with the help of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Intelligence team using the passport information Tracey provided when she first came into the U.S. in 2024. Tracey was arrested at Point Pleasant Beach police headquarters July 13. She is charged with simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment and obstruction.

Tracey is married to Matthew Geroni and the couple lived in Asbury Park. Geroni initially launched a GoFundMe account and posted to his TikTok page asking for help finding his wife and immigration lawyer. However, the GoFundMe has since been taken down, and he made his TikTok account private.

"I need an immigration lawyer," Geroni said in an previously posted on his TikTok channel. "I gotta save her. I love ... I need my wife."
