City planners are slated to review applications for a new childcare building and mixed-use artist space in Asbury Park.

ASBURY PARK, NJ - City planners are slated to review preliminary and final site application plans for a new early learning and childcare building on Monday, according to municipal documents.

The Asbury Park Planning Board will hear the application for an early childhood learning and care facility at the intersections of Atkins and Jefferson Avenues. The site is proposed to consist of a two-story 4,644-square-foot building, as well as a new parking lot for six cars, an outdoor rubberized play area and a student drop off/pick-up area.

Per planning board documents, applicant Interfaith Neighbors is also seeking exceptions for off-street parking. The proposed facility would contain a lobby, reception area, activity rooms, restrooms and mechanical space, as well as training, conference and staff rooms on the second floor.

The board is also expected to hear an application for preliminary and final site approval to construct a two-story mixed use building at 1317-1319 Springwood Avenue with an artist live/work space.
