ASBURY PARK – Michael Manzella has been named deputy city manager in Asbury Park.

Manzella will continue to serve as the city's transportation manager, but his new post will come with a $10,000 stipend, officials said.

The appointment comes a month after the mayor and Asbury Park Council announced the appointment of Donna M. Vieiro to the position of interim city manager, effective Dec. 1.

The mayor and council have become familiar with Vieiro through her work and involvement on the city's Budget Committee and in providing management assistance to the city for several projects earlier last year, the release said.
