Eatontown Man, His Nephew Found Guilty In Fatal Neptune Twp. Shooting

Marcus Morrisey, 52, of Eatontown and Danron Morrisey, 30, of Neptune Township were found guilty for the 2018 murder of Randolph Goodman.

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 52-year-old man Eatontown man and his 30-year-old nephew were convicted this week for the 2018 murder of a Neptune Township man, in what prosecutors say was a fatal shooting over a crack cocaine drug deal.

Marcus Morrisey, 52, of Eatontown and Danron Morrisey, 30, of Neptune Township were found guilty of murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons charges in the death of Randolph Goodman Jr., 43, of Neptune Township.

Marcus Morrisey was also found guilty for using a stun gun.

Neptune Township Police responded to a call for shots fired at approximately 9:21 p.m. on Saturday night, November 10, 2018 outside of 1030 Old Corlies Avenue.

Officers arrived to find Goodman with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to the Asbury Park Press, this was a murder over a drug deal in front of the victim's home:

Goodman planned to sell 30 grams of crack cocaine to Morrissey, prosecutors said.

The case went to trial and a Monmouth County jury returned "guilty" verdicts for both men this week. They will be sentenced July 13.
