The city was recently awarded up to $320,000 in funding to install electric vehicle chargers, officials said.

ASBURY PARK, NJ - Asbury Park has been granted up to $320,000 in funding for the installation of electric vehicle chargers around the city, officials said.

The funding comes from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) as part of the Jersey Electric Vehicle (EV) Tourism Program.

The agency received 94 grant applications and awarded over $1 million in funding to 24 applicants, according to a press release. The EV Tourism Program is aimed at investing in electric vehicle infrastructure and minimizing “range anxiety” for residents and tourists visiting New Jersey.
