A New Jersey mayor is facing a backlash after sharing a meme on Facebook that attacks liberals using a profanity, according to The Asbury Park Press.

Neptune City Mayor Robert Brown, a Republican, shared a post at 8:49 p.m. Saturday from a group called the "Friends of Second Amendment Salt Lake," which posts political memes, according to the report. The post shows a picture of Clint Eastwood with text over it, saying, "Every morning I wake up and feel so grateful that I'm not a brainwashed, anti-American, liberal piece of sh--."

Brown initially told The Press he "liked" the post, a social media action that is typically indicated as approval of an idea, according to the report. When presented with information that he had shared the post, Brown replied, "Well, I'm not that good at Facebook."
