Neptune Twp. Teacher Kept Large Knife In Classroom, Prosecutor Says
A teacher in Neptune Township was arrested after police say he kept a large stainless steel knife in a desk in his classroom.
NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A teacher in Neptune Township was arrested after police say he brought a large stainless-steel knife into school, and was keeping it in a desk drawer in his classroom.
Kevin Hasbrouck, 36, is charged with a single count of a fourth-degree weapons offense after he was found to be in possession of a knife, said the Monmouth County Prosecutor. He is a social studies teacher at Neptune Middle School.
Neptune Twp. Police were called to the middle school on Feb. 3 to investigate a report of a knife in a classroom. Police said they found a large stainless-steel knife with a black handle being kept in his desk drawer.

Hasbrouck also coaches bowling at Neptune High School. At one point, he was also an assistant boys' varsity baseball coach at Shore Regional High School, however he has not worked there since 2023, said Shore Regional.
He lives in Point Pleasant Beach (Ocean County).
