New Jersey Theatre Alliance will host Curtain Call, its annual celebration of theatre, at The Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park on Oct. 22, according to the alliance.
Honorees include the education leaders of its member theatres, as well as board president Larry Capo whose lifelong dedication to the arts has made a lasting impact on The Alliance and our state arts community. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and includes buffet stations, wine and beer, entertainment, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle, according to the press release.
“We are so delighted to be recognizing Larry Capo with this year’s Star Award for his incomparable dedication, leadership and support of the Alliance and our members,” said John McEwen, Executive Director of New Jersey Theatre Alliance. “The talent and commitment of the education leaders of our member theatres enriches the lives of young people and adults through innovative programs that build self-esteem and encourage self-expression.”

The Alliance member theatres are large, mid-sized, and small non-profit theatres that produce musicals, classics, contemporary dramas, new works, and/or children’s plays. Each is a fully functioning business that pays its staff and artists (designers, technicians, directors, and actors) while contributing substantially to the state’s economy.
“We couldn’t be more proud to chair this event and acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of Larry Capo and the 34 theatre members being honored for their innovative and engaging programs they bring to their communities,” said Co-Chairs Linda Kinsey and Donald Ehman. “Exposing people of all ages to the arts is imperative to a well-rounded, cultured society.”
