School Shooting Threat At Asbury Park High School Under Investigation
All the Asbury Park schools went into lockdown Thursday morning after a man mentioned a school shooting to a woman walking her dog:

ASBURY PARK, NJ — All the schools in the Asbury Park school district were placed into a modified lockdown Thursday morning after man mentioned having a gun and shooting at or inside the school, said police.
At 8:05 a.m. Thursday, a woman was walking her dog in the area of the Asbury Park High School when she was approached by a man on a bicycle. The man "made an alarming statement to the female regarding him obtaining a firearm and shooting at or inside the school," said police in a statement.
The woman notified the police department, which in turn notified the Asbury Park school district. Schools were placed into a modified lockdown while the threat was investigated.

As of 12:30 p.m., the man has not yet been identified or located, said Asbury Park Police. However, the lockdown has been lifted and all students and teachers have resumed normal classes and activities.
Asbury Park police officers remain inside all school buildings Thursday and police are continuing to investigate this incident, according to Sergeant Michael Casey.

"Although a police presence at or in the area of the schools is evident, at no time was there an active shooter present at any of the schools," stressed Casey.
