The Asbury Park Police Department is taking the initiative in asking residents and businesses throughout the city to sign up.

ASBURY PARK – The Asbury Park Police Department is taking the initiative in asking residents and businesses throughout the city to sign up their privately owned surveillance cameras.
The police are utilizing cameras that may capture incidents without the owner's knowledge, which may help solve crimes, police say.
Officers may be able to use the information on footage on these cameras to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of the criminals involved.

The program is voluntary and your information may not be shared.
You would only be contacted by the Asbury Park Police Department if there is an incident within the vicinity of your camera system and officers or detectives may request to view the footage in order to assist in the investigation.
