Teen Stabbed Outside Neptune High School: Police

A teen stabbed another student outside a Monmouth County high school on Monday, police said.

The incident happened at 1:45 p.m. in front of Neptune High School, leaving a 16-year-old girl with a stab wound, police said.

The 17-year-old boy was placed under arrest shortly after the incident took place, police said.

The girl was treated and released from Jersey Shore University Medical Center, police said.

Neptune Police Capt. Michael McGhee told The Asbury Park Press that the victim and accused teen knew each other.

"There was some sort of altercation in which a male brandished a knife and stabbed the female in the leg," he told the publication.
