Several telemedicine options are available via GetCoveredNJ plans.
During a telemedicine appointment, members can get a diagnosis, learn about treatment options, get a prescription, and in some cases, a doctor can even remotely monitor readings from medical devices to track a medical condition.
The following options are available from the various plans that can be purchased through the GetCoveredNJ state-based exchange (note: not all options are available from all plans):
In-network primary doctors: Many doctors now offer telemedicine appointments, which let members discuss symptoms and medical concerns anytime, anywhere. Members may want to ask their doctor’s office if telemedicine services are offered and how to get started.
Remote doctors: Members can use their smartphone, tablet or computer browser to talk with a U.S. board-certified, licensed doctor and get convenient medical care online, anytime, by video or phone. Doctors can treat members for symptoms and conditions such as colds, eye infections and flu, as well as anxiety and other behavioral health concerns.
24/7 Nurse Line: Members can talk to a registered nurse by phone, nurse chat or telemedicine via smartphone, tablet or computer browser.
