Woman Hit By Car And Killed On Rt. 35 In Neptune Township

A woman was hit by a car and killed early Thursday morning on Rt. 35 in Neptune Township, said the Monmouth County Prosecutor.

NEPTUNE, NJ — A woman was hit by a car and killed early Thursday morning on Rt. 35 in Neptune Township, said the Monmouth County Prosecutor.

At 2:10 a.m., Neptune Twp. Police responded to Rt. 35 and West Lake Avenue for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash.

A man driving a 2013 Honda Accord south on Rt. 35 hit the woman in the roadway, said police.

The pedestrian, later identified as Amani E. Turner, 24, of Neptune Township, was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased at 2:24 a.m.

The driver of the Honda Accord remained on scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
