1 Killed, 2 Critically Injured In Stafford House Fire: Prosecutor
Two people were able to escape the Yeoman Road fire and are in critical condition; a 92-year-old was trapped inside and died, officials say.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — One person died and two others were critically injured in a Stafford house fire in the early hours of Feb. 13, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
Emergency personnel went to the Yeoman Road home at about 1:20 a.m. Friday, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Heavy fire conditions were seen and there were reports of entrapment.

Two people were able to escape the fire. One was taken to Temple University Burn Center in Philadelphia where he is in critical condition, Billhimer said. The other was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and also is in critical condition, Billhimer said.
The third person, a 92-year-old woman, was trapped inside the burning house and died from her injuries, Billhimer said.

The origin and cause of the fatal fire remains under investigation.
