11th Annual Ship Bottom Irish Festival On Tap For Saturday And Sunday

Shamrock 5K Race/Walk, an Irish Mass and Irish step dancing slated for event.

Rain or shine, the 11th Annual Ship Bottom Irish Festival will go on as planned Saturday and Sunday.

The event will be held at 10th Street and Shore Avenue. Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 10 pm., Sunday will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Ancient Order of Hibernians Facebook page.

One of the highlights will be the LBI Shamrock 5K Walk/Run, which will be held on Saturday. Participants may register on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10. The admission fee is $30 per person. For online admission go to www.RaceForum.com/Shamrock5K.

You can watch the Irish step dancers, and listen to music provided by Mike Byrnes, the Ocean County Emerald Society Pipes and drums, the Tom Brett Ban, the Captain and O'Neal.
