2 New Officers Join Barnegat Police Department
Kevin Wagner and Evan Sands were recently sworn in as patrolmen, joining the Barnegat Police Department.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Two new officers have joined the Barnegat Police Department as 2025 begins.
Kevin Wagner and Evan Sands both were recently sworn in surrounded by family and friends, the department shared on social media.
Wagner, a current Barnegat resident, brings 13 years of law enforcement experience to the department.

His resume includes roles as a SWAT team member, field training officer, firearms instructor, Less lethal weapons instructor and detective.
Sands is a born and raised native of Barnegat. He joins with just over one year of police experience. Sands also holds certification as a personal trainer and "has a strong commitment to serving his community," the department said.

"We’re thrilled to have these dedicated officers join our department and look forward to the positive impact they’ll make in serving our citizens," the department said. "We would also like to thank our Township Committee for their continued support."
