Here are some key dates for the upcoming school year in the Barnegat, Stafford and Southern Regional school districts:

Barnegat

• First day of school: Sept. 4
• Staff professional development, school closed for students: Oct. 14
• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 28-29
• Early dismissal, parent-teacher conferences: Dec. 2-6
• Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school closed: Jan. 20
• President's Day, school closed: Feb. 17
• Spring break: April 10-17
• Staff professional development, no school for students: April 27
• Memorial Day, school closed: May 25
• Last day of school (tentative): June 19

Stafford

• Teacher orientation, open house: Sept. 3
• First day of school: Sept. 4
• School closed, professional development day: Oct. 14
• School closed, New Jersey Education Association convention: Nov. 4-8
• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 28-29
• Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school closed: Jan. 20
• School closed, professional development day: Feb. 14
• President's Day, school closed: Feb. 17
• Spring break: April 10-17

Southern Regional*

*Excessive weather-related closings will result in Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day and spring break being rescheduled as school days.
