Accused Meth Dealer Caught In Manahawkin: Police

Rosario Russo, 56, is suspected of distributing methamphetamine in Stafford, according to police.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A suspected meth dealer was caught with drugs on his person and in his apartment, according to Stafford police.

The Stafford Township Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) launched an investigation into Rosario Russo, 56, who was suspected of distributing drugs in town, according to a news release.

This investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Russo and a search warrant issued for his apartment at the Cedar Run Apartments in Manahawkin, police said.

On July 18, the DEU executed the search warrant and stopped Russo in his car in the apartment complex, police said. Russo was taken into custody.

During the search, police found meth in Russo's possession, and additional meth and drug paraphernalia in his apartment, according to the release.

Russo was charged with distribution of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a complaint summons and released pending a court appearance, police said.
