BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat dog has been missing since noon Sunday. Owners are asking the public to keep an eye out for him.

If you see him, do not approach him or call for him. He will run. Owners didn't want his name revealed because people might call it and make him nervous.

Instead, call Marilyn Wainwright at 732-232-7424 or the Barnegat Police Department at 609-698-5000.

The dog has been seen once since getting lost. He was around the wildlife refuge by Bayview Boulevard and Ridgeway Street, Wainwright said.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office has searched with its drone but hasn't found the dog.

Patch will post any updates.
