The owners said that the cause of the fire is unknown.

"We don't know what caused it. We don't know the extent of the damage. We don't know when we will reopen. But we know that we WILL reopen," the owners said.

Surf City firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading.

No injuries were reported.

A GoFundMe has been launched to support the restaurant's staff.

"Every dollar raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to our staff to help bridge the gap until we are able to reopen our doors," the fundraiser reads. "Whether it helps cover rent, groceries, bills, or simply gives someone a little breathing room during an uncertain time, it will make a difference."

As of Monday morning, the fundraiser has already raised more than $55,000 of its $100,000 goal.
